YOUTH & CHILDREN

Train children in the right way, and when old, they will not stray.

At MCC we do not separate youth and children from the Sunday morning worship experience (we offer nursery care, but even infants are welcome to stay with parents in worship). We believe that we train people how to worship by worshiping together. Youth and children are an integrated part of the MCC life; serving as worship leaders, taking up offering and serving communion, and singing in the choir.

Spectrum Ministry: God has blessed MCC with several children who are on the autism spectrum. We fully welcome the gifts of people on the spectrum as they help us worship God in new ways. If you have a child or teen on the spectrum we invite you to try worship at MCC and know that you and your family will be loved as precious children of God!
If you would like to speak with other MCC parents of children on the spectrum we invite you to fill out this form:

Youthtopia: Our winter retreat for youth 6-12 grade takes place in January each year. We travel to YMCA Camp Chandler where we gather with other Disciple youth from Alabama and Northwest Florida for a weekend of learning and growing in the faith.

Regional Kid’s and Youth Camps: Each June children grades K-12 have the opportunity to go to church camp. Younger kids go for a weekend and kids in grades 4-12 attend a week-long camp. Our camp is held at YMCA Camp Candler in Wetumpka, AL. Camps are designed around Christian themes with learning activities that are age appropriate. Days are filled with singing, small group learning, worship, high and low ropes courses, and waterfront activities all led by adults who have completed a background screening. We hold the care of our youth and children in the highest priority.
