Advent at Madison Christian Church
Prepare the Way
How do we prepare for Christmas? Most of us prepare by decking the halls, buying gifts for loved ones, celebrating the season as we gather for parties, and tuning in to the sounds of 24/7 holiday music on the radio. Yet, a voice still cries out, “Prepare the way of the Lord.” This season of Advent calls us to prepare, not just for a holly jolly Christmas, but for the coming again of the Christ into our hearts and lives. Join us for worship beginning December 1 as we Prepare the Way – the way for the hope, peace, love, and joy of our Lord to change our lives.

September Sermon Series: Songs of Life
Weeping may linger in the night but joy comes in the morning. Whether we turn to God in times of personal crisis or in moments of utter joy, God stands ready to listen. The book of Psalms invites us to let the Spirit invade our everyday lives. Like a popular song you hum when your spirit needs support, the Psalms offer us a sustainable spirituality, not a naive faith, but one that carries us through the darkest valleys with steadfast love. Join us Sundays in September as we explore the Songs of Life.

Love Letters: Paul’s Message for the Church Today
First and foremost, the apostle Paul was a pastor. As he spread the message of Christ and planted new faith communities wherever he traveled, Paul stayed in touch with his congregations by writing letters of encouragement, direction, correction, and love. The wisdom in Paul’s correspondence with ancient churches still has much to teach the church today about how we are called to change, grow, and welcome others in Christ’s name. Join us each Sunday in August as we delve into Paul’s letters to discover a deeper understanding of our mission today.
Join us as we celebrate our special Christmas Offering in July that supports our Regional ministries. We’ll celebrate with a fellowship lunch after worship that includes an ugly Christmas sweater (ok T-shirt) contest!
